At its core, this project seeks to reveal the interplay between lexico-semantic processing and conceptual knowledge, in a cross-linguistic and cross-cultural perspective. In phase 1, we will investigate, in healthy multilinguals, the effect of language similarity (as defined by semantic typology) on the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying conceptual representation. In phase 2, we aim to leverage the neural signatures isolated in the previous phase to guide the improvement of current diagnostic and intervention practices.
