Improving brain synchronization and executive functioning in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment by transcranial alternate current brain stimulation: The Cogmax study

ZonMW Memorabel Grant
PI: Branislava Ćurčić-Blake

In this project with use synchronous brain stimulation tACS in the theta range to increase fronto-parietal brain synchronization and improve EF of MCI patients, potentially delaying conversion to dementia. We will investigate if brain synchrony increased using tACS will improve cognitive functioning in MCI patients. We further want to achieve the increase in fronto-parietal brain synchronization induced by the tACS and measured by EEG. At the moment the inclusion of participants is finalized, we only collect 1 year follow up.
