PIs: Boon Lead Tee, Maria Luisa Gorno-Tempini

This research project focuses on the Chinese-speaking population that suffers from Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA), a debilitating and fatal neurodegenerative disease that manifests predominantly with speech and language deficits. The CLAP project brought together clinicians, researchers and speech language pathologist from U.S., Taiwan and Hong Kong  to establish a Chinese-speaking PPA cohort with clinical, linguistic, and neuroimaging data. We aim to improve the clinical diagnosis of this currently underserved population and provide novel insights into the neural basis of speech and language and ultimately facilitate treatment development for this devastating disorder.
